The Strawberry Center Welcomes Entomologist Peter Shearer

Peter Shearer joins Cal Poly, bringing vast experience from an illustrious career as a tree fruit entomologist at Rutgers University, Oregon State University and Washington State University. Shearer is an established authority on spotted wing Drosophila and brown marmorated stink bug and has worked extensively on many different arthropod pests attacking tree fruit crops. He began his new role at the Strawberry Center on Sept. 28, where he will address arthropod issues facing the California strawberry industry.
